removing yellow paint from my mustang
?
ok so my stupid office has these honking huge poles directly next to all the parking spaces, so of course there is no room to park. But anyway they have this incredibly bright yellow paint near the bottom and i guess while driving my mustang (with the Grey metallic paint coat) i nudged it. which i did not even notice until i looked at the front of my car. Anyways the yellow paint i guess rubbed off the pole and onto my car and i have washed it a bunch of times and it has not come off. I just got these neato little “buffers” from black and decker and i was wondering if there is some way to remove the yellow paint? Do i just you wax? any suggestions on product and brands and how to do it?
go get yourself some polishing compund from your local autopart store.. polishing compund is a mild abrasive paste that is used to remove imperfections in the paint.. apply using a clean lint free cloth, rub by hand in small circular motion until the yellow paint is gone.. a word of caution, if you keep rubbing long enough, you will rub the original paint down to the primer coat… do not use a buffer, do this by hand… if you are not getting results from this, you can try rubbing compund. it is the same idea but more abrasive.. if it is just light paint transfer, you should have good luck with the polishing compound. when you get the paint off the fender, finish by applying a coat of wax to the area you just polished to protect the paint. good luck
